I am a BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist based in Northamptonshire.
Making the decision to come to therapy can be quite daunting, not knowing what it’s going to be like or wondering how to find the right therapist. I will try my best to make you feel at ease and answer any questions you have. Difficulties I can help with
Depression
Low mood, motivation and
energy, not feeling interested
in things any more, no enjoyment in activities you usually enjoy, negative thoughts about yourself, feeling like you have failed and experiencing suicidal thoughts.
Panic Attacks
Experiencing panic attacks out of the blue or response to specific situations. Feeling breathless, chest pain, heart racing, heart palpitations, dizziness, faint, tingly, shaky and feeling like something is seriously wrong or that you may die.
Social Anxiety
Struggling to be in social situations, experiencing high levels of discomfort and anxiety when having to face a social situation. Feelings of being judged by others, feeling like you must put on a persona to be liked or accepted and avoidance of social situations where possible.
Anxiety
Worrying, feeling restless, on edge, irritable, struggling to relax, feeling like something bad might happen, experiencing physical sensations like heart racing, sweating, heart palpitations, difficulty breathing, feeling sick, nervous and shaky.
Trauma
Experiencing a traumatic event involving potential or actual serious injury or death and struggling to think about and deal with the memories of the event(s).
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Unwanted and unpleasant thoughts leading you to act in ways that will reduce the likelihood of the feared outcome. Being fearful of the thoughts you are experiencing and trying to block them out. Feeling like you have to do specific behaviours to ensure bad things don’t happen.
