In the words of Harry Styles…

I went to his Together Together tour at Wembley in June 2026 and it was one of the best gigs I have ever been to, and I’ve been to a lot of music gigs over the years. I danced like I was on my own, sang all the words and lapped up the good vibes from everyone around me doing the same thing. There’s something about being in a massive crowd of people sharing the same passion that really bring you Together (Together). Harry achieved his mission.

After the gig, I starting watching a lot of the interviews Harry did promoting this album and in an interview for Radio 1 Live Lounge, Harry talked about his break from music in the run up to this album. He said something that really stood out to me about the main question he asked himself which was “Am I doing this thing because I love it, or am I doing it because I’ve been doing it for a long time?”

I think it’s a great question and I think quite often we do certain things in a certain way just because that is how it has been for a long time, but they may not actually be serving their purpose anymore. This could be hobbies, the job we are doing, the relationships we have, anything. What is important to us can change depending on what is going on in our lives, our values can change from week to week, so this comment from Styles was a good reminder to keep our values and how we spend our time in line with each other. If something is feeling off, or there is that feeling of plodding along, it could be time for something new or even going back to something old that you haven’t done for a while. Research has shown that when people are living their life in line with their values, they are happier, which makes a lot of sense because if the things we are doing do not feel worthwhile, it is understandable that we would not be getting much out of them and probably wouldn’t feel overly motivated or enthusiastic about doing them. A big part of the treatment for Depression looks at how we are spending our time and how much value we are getting out of the things we do, which again shows the importance of paying attention to our values and the types of things we are doing with our time.

So, whether you’re a lover of Harry Styles or not, it’s a good question to ask ourselves. Are you getting what you want out of the things you are spending your time on?
